ROBERT ARMSTRONG (husband) was a deserter from 10 Scotch Fuzallons, and tried at Manchester under the name ROBERT AMSTRAHAM and she was tried at the same sessions under the name of MARY JOHNSON along with JAMES HALVERN and ELIZABETH HALVERN, charged with tendering base coins at Great Bolton. Guilty. all got 1 year. ROBERT ARMSTRONG tried at Lancaster in 1814 for possessing a large quantity of base coin. - death, but pardoned & transported for life. Sent to Portsmouth and put on H.M. ship Captivity. |
